The Baltimore O's have made it public that they are the potential 3rd team in the recently dead Peavy-to-Cubs deal. Based on what was reported the Cubs would trade Felix "Cream" Pie to the O's for a young pitcher Garret Olson who the Padre's have wanted. Then a second deal would be made involving Olson for Peavy. That would put down Marquis to the pen as long relief duties. The Cubs would easily have the best rotation in the league with Zambrano, Dempster, Lilly, Harden, and Peavy.
Then the Cubs would look for a low salary solution for their left handed bat problem. My opinion is to go for a Free Agent...i like Fontenot way too much to deal for Mark Teahan. Maybe a Bobby Abreu is in the North Side's future?
